Holiday Cheer Delivered at AVPH Annual Toy Shop of 2025

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Community and Partners!

Antelope Valley Partners for Health (AVPH) recently concluded its annual AVPH Holiday Toy Shop, and the outcome was truly remarkable. Through the tremendous kindness of our community members, devoted partners, and generous supporters, approximately 1,000 toys were provided to children and families, bringing warmth, hope, and holiday joy to those actively enrolled in AVPH programs. Many of the families who attended are facing significant challenges, and for some, the gifts received may be the only presents their children open this holiday season.

This Holiday Toy Shop was dedicated exclusively to serving our registered clients across the wide range of AVPH programs, including Best Start, Welcome Baby, Healthy Families America, and many others, ensuring that families most in need felt supported, valued, and seen during this special time of year.

Holiday Impact at a Glance

The holiday season is a time for connection, generosity, and showing up for one another. Thanks to your support, families across our community were able to celebrate with joy, warmth, and meaningful moments together.

During the 2025 holiday season, AVPH proudly served:

  • 271 families
  • and 983 children that received toys!

These numbers represent more than gifts- they reflect a community coming together to create lasting memories for children and families.

How the AVPH Holiday Toy Shop Works

A Thoughtful Shopping Experience

At the heart of this AVPH Holiday Toy Shop, parents have the opportunity to choose gifts for their children in a welcoming, dignified space. Parents are invited to “shop” for gifts for their families, creating an experience that mirrors the joy of holiday giving at home.

Guided Gift Wrapping

After selecting gifts, parents are guided to a wrapping station where they are provided with wrapping supplies and support from AVPH staff and volunteers.

AVPH Director of Direct Services, Victoria Bibby, shared that the toy-wrapping station is often one of the most meaningful moments of the toy shop. For some parents, wrapping gifts is a new experience. This is a chance to leave not only with wrapped gifts, but new skills to confidently carry into future holidays or other occasions.

Additional Resources

In addition to toys, families visit an extra shopping area where they are offered clothing, household items, and other essentials to ensure support extends beyond the holiday season.

Resource tables were also available for families to learn more about other services and programs that are available within AVPH.

Grocery Gift Cards for the Holidays

AVPH extends sincere gratitude to LA Regional Food Bank for the opportunity to support families in an additional and meaningful way this holiday season. Through this partnership, AVPH was able to provide grocery gift cards to qualifying families who attended the Holiday Toy Shop, helping them get access to food, meals, and groceries from stores, like WinCo or Albertsons/Vons.

Holiday Toy Drive Spotlight

An AVPH client reached out to their case worker after the Holiday Toy Shop and said, “Thank you for inviting me to the event. I thankfully walked out of there with things for my family. I was grateful for the food gift card of $200 for my family. Thank you to the AVPH workers.”

An AVPH staff member also shared, “Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces as they received their gifts was truly the most rewarding part of the season. It’s a reminder that we are more than just a service provider; we are a community that cares deeply for one another.”
