Title: School Coordinators (ATP Grant)

Department: Direct Services, Youth Dept
Hours: Full-time, occasional evening and weekend work required
Reports To: Program Lead
Starting Wage: $20/hr starting

Job Summary:  

This project aims to provide school presentations and events to encourage students to bike and/or
walk to school safely. In this position, School Coordinators will be working in a team to meet
deliverables in 10 local elementary and middle schools. Parent engagement is another component
of this project, parent teacher associations (PTAs) will be engaged throughout the school year. The
School Ambassador will be responsible for ensuring students and parents are involved in project
delivery (PTA, school presence and community events).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing. 
  • Engage school staff to coordinate service delivery 
  • Engage school Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) in Biking Coalition and other activities. Facilitate presentations in local schools to share information about safe routes to school. Participate in periodic required trainings 
  • Special projects and other administrative duties as assigned. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Experience & Requirements: 

  • Knowledge of and/or part of the hard-to-reach communities 
  • Current and maintained valid California driver’s license. 
  • Current and maintained automobile insurance. 
  • Must have automobile or reliable mode of transportation. 
  • Meet background check requirements and physical job standards. 
  • COVID-19 vaccination highly encouraged but not required.

    Working Conditions:
  • Both in office and field conditions working directly with the community. • Employee will be required to sit, perform repetitive physical and mental activities, have face-to-face and telephone contact with individuals, work with others in a group or team, and work with the community.
  •  May be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Work may be performed under stressful and emotional conditions.
