Distribution hours are from 8am – 11am. All volunteers are strongly recommended to arrive at 7am for the start of the shift.
•Parking team members should arrive at 7am and report to the parking lot lead.
•Safety vests, walkie-talkies, and flags will be distributed to parking team members.
•Parking team members will help put out banners, traffic signs/cones, and other items placed for the safety of staff and clients.
•Clearly direct clients to parking spots.
•After dismissal, parking team members will help consolidate signage and other items for pick-up.
•Registration line personnel are tasked to handle all registration of clients at the start of the distribution at 8 am.
•Once clients are in your station ask them to put their car in park and where they would like their produce (passenger seat, back passenger seats, trunk).
•While in the parking lot clients are given tickets, you will ask for the tickets and the amount you are given is the number of households in the vehicle. (i.e., one ticket=one household, two tickets=two households)
•You will ask clients for their full name, zip code, the number of people in household, and if it is their first-time receiving USDA food for the month in the county.
•Frontline runners are assigned to help with registration tables and will assist in replenishing produce bags and dry goods when registration is running low.
•Backline runners will assist in bringing produce bags and dry goods boxes/bags from the conference room to the lobby area for frontline runners
•Assist in setting up tables and canopies in designated parking lot area
•Bringing out AVPH program flyers, items that are to be given out during distribution, and client interaction/communication if they have any questions.
Emergency Meals runner:
•Assist with bringing out hot meals from café area to the distribution area.
•Replenish the registration area with hot meals once they are running low.
